The UV detectors, which are fully integrated in the collection module, are controlled by the InterSoft X software. Thanks to the very simple application, it is sufficient to enter the desired wavelength into the software and “Genius” will take care of the acquisition and recording of the chromatograms.

The UV-Vis detector supplied with the puriFlash® device allows you to select 4 wavelengths simultaneously, in the same manner as a SCAN (the total number of wavelengths available with the two models can be included in this one).
Each laboratory has different needs, and since we are anxious to meet those needs and always provide you the most appropriate solution, we propose two UV detectors:
200 – 400 nm (standard – except for the PF-020B intended for proteins)
200 – 800 nm (with UVextended pack for puriFlash® compatible with this option)
More about how the UV-Vis detector works
When a chemical function is subjected to radiation, it passes over into an excited state due to the absorption, making it is possible to define a collection via an absorbed signal. In order to be detected, the compound must have at least one chromophore in its structure (e.g., aromatic grouping, two conjugated double bonds …), so the signal is absorbed and a peak appears on the chromatogram.
Consequently the detection module measures the absorption of a liquid passing through the UV cell at a certain wavelength. The deuterium lamp emits a light beam which passes through the UV cell filled with a mixture of solvent and compounds. Using a grid, the light beam is sent back to the diode bar and the photomultiplier generates the signal.

UV scan over the entire wavelength
& UV spectrum in real time.
The UV-Vis detectors contained in the puriFlash® Interchim® are equipped with the “DAD” technology (Diode Array Detector). This provides approximately one hundred diodes for scanning the entire wavelength for your detection, thus making it possible to obtain the UV spectrum of the eluted compounds in real time.
If you wish, you can return to a peak of the chromatogram at any time (even during the run or in the reprocess) in order to display the spectrum at the selected time and to obtain the elements of identification and the purity of the purified compounds.

The various parameters (signal detection, selection of wavelengths and the entire scan, automatic zeroing) are fully controlled by the InterSoft X software to ensure comfort and ease of use on a daily basis.
